Carbon-Conscious Cloud

We operate exclusively on AWS eu-west-2 (London), which sources renewable energy. This reduces the carbon footprint of data processing and storage.

Efficient Model Design

We prioritize smaller, optimized AI models over massive, resource-intensive ones. Efficient models deliver comparable accuracy with far less energy consumption.

Remote-First Operation

BrightState operates as a remote-first organization, reducing emissions from daily commutes and office energy use. Meetings are virtual by default.

Sustainable Partnerships

We partner with organizations committed to environmental responsibility, including Nvidia Inception Programme and green-certified data centers.

AI & Energy Efficiency

Training and running AI models consume significant energy. We address this through:

Model Optimization:

Pruning, quantization, and knowledge distillation reduce model size and inference cost without sacrificing performance

On-Demand Inference:

Models run only when needed, rather than continuously processing data. This reduces idle compute time

Transfer Learning:

We adapt pre-trained models rather than training from scratch, saving weeks of compute time and associated emissions

Regional Data Processing:

Processing data in the same region it originates (UK) minimizes cross-region data transfers and latency
